I loved this book. You find yourself routing for someone you saw as a villian. You get an insight into Hugh and how he is adjusting to life after Roland. Forging his own path, with the help of his Iron Dogs and his wife Elara.
You quickly realise he is much more than his past and he is now free to carve his own future for himself and his people.
There is new character and also a few cameo moments from a few we already know.

I love how Ilona Andrews takes a villian from her Kate Daniels books, makes you root for him and understand him. Truth wears many faces.
