There is so much to like about this book. I adored the two main characters. Wecker did an amazing job of placing these beings of legend into a 20th-century setting without making it seem like genre writing. This had more of a literary fiction feel to it. This book was definitely NOT up my alley. I enjoy fantasy fiction and I thought this would be similar and it really isn't. The story line sounded so fascinating that I couldn't help myself but pick it up and to try and read it, but to be honest I never finished it. I got about 70 pages in before I realized it just wasn't for me. Every tiny nuance of the characters are expressed to the most infinitesimal details.
