I loved this book! I heard a lot of people say it was slow and struggled through it! I enjoyed it! When comparing to acotar, I struggled more with that first book than this one! It was a great pace and kept my interest through the entire book! I strongly suggest to all that they should read this book. I can not wait to start the next book! I enjoyed the main characters and story line. There are so many different elements and ways this story can go and can not wait to fully enter this world!!!
Discovering that SJM started this book when she was 16yo made a lot about his book make sense. The plot and character development are unimaginative and immature. The focus of the plot- the competition to find the kingdom’s Champion- is completely illogical. How is a thief meant to hold this position, much less a psychopathic serial killer who can be trusted alone without multiple guards?
