Generally, I like Gaiman books-- not always 5 stars, but enough that I can say I like them. Most I've even listened too, so I thought this book would also follow the same line for me. It did start off GREAT. I was loving this one.

I honestly felt as if this was a book forced to read in ninth or tenth grade English class. Poorly written, in my opinion. The grammar and incomplete sentences through me for a loop. The beginning is extremely slow and dragged on. I made it to page 130 before I closed the book and said, "never again." Perhaps this is just not my type of book.

The ease with which the story switches between mundane things like coin tricks, to heavy stuff like Gods & human sacrifice, is something only Gaiman can pull off. It's not quite as good as Neverwhere, but full marks for letting his imagination run wild on this one.
