The Struggle, I found, was only just slightly better than The Awakening. It was slightly less frustrating to read as by the time you're into the book the annoying vainness of Elena has faded and you can't help but drool at bad brother Damon. Just like the first book, the relationships between the characters progress way too quickly to make any complete sense and just causes frustration.

Although saying that I did find myself having some fun while reading it. The book ended on a complete cliff-h ...more
