This was a difficult story to read, painful in the heart. Bitterblue's struggles to come to terms with her Queen responsibilities, the horrible legacy left by her father, traitors everywhere and the need to be accepted. She looks at her trusted advisors and friends and sees something, or is it nothing ? Her heart will break more than once. Didn't keep me up late into the night reading (which is probably a good thing) but was a consistent good read day after day. I liked how all 3 stories were interlocked into this one. I would definitely read a 4th book if she ever wrote one. My favorite out of all three was the 2nd one. Loved the romance in that one! ...more

What an amazing conclusion to a great series. My only complaint was that there were so many characters that the character development did not come full circle. Also, the ending was hurried. The author tried to tie up a all story lines in about one chapter. I did love how she tied in all the characters from the other books, though. All in all, good book, but it has nothing on the other two in the series.

I’m done with this series. The only thing I got from this book is a new addiction to crosswords and word jumbles. Not to mention I only got like 3 min of cross over material and the best part they made pg13 because bitter couldn’t bare to deal. I understand why there isn’t a book 4
