Shelves: historical-fiction, 3-0-500, 4-italy

Well researched and described book of the period. I love ancient Rome and this story takes you back there. I love that the author adds historical notes at the end of the book. Makes it easier to look people up and see their real life deeds. Plus any story that makes you want to find out more is doing its jon.

The main characters are wonderfully awful. They are not likable but they are interesting! Vix is a fighter, never quite content with his place in the world. He does some amazing things, feel ...more
