This was an incredibly difficult book to rate. The story ended well but something was missing...what was it? Others would obsess or re-read the story, I moved on to the last book in the series hoping the answer would miraculously turn up.
The King has forced two feuding families into an alliance. A substantial gift is the carrot at the end of the stick. The two people stuck in this alliance are Nathan and Sara.

1.5 stars. It rubbed me wrong in so many ways.
The formula is well and good but one should tweak it atleast a little bit to fit the various scenario. This would have been a fun read if all that took place, took place in say the scottish highlands, or a medieval village... All of this cutesy quirkyness taking place on a pirate ship with basically no consequence...
So many moments , plotlines which one felt would become BIG later one... just didnt.... Pagan? Pagan who?? Sara's reaction?? Reaction ...more
