What a depressing read. Sad depressing thoughts, unhappy lives, dark perceptions, out of nowhere ending that tried to make LA seem like a cesspool of the world.

He had so much drama, he was so unhappy, and most of it was his doing. He was also rude, mean, and quick to slit the throats of innocents who thought him special. This was a great wrap to the series. I love Coles character but I was hoping to have some Sam and Grace as well. Unfortunately they were pretty much honorable mentions.
Isabel was a little too hard for my liking but it was still a good book and a good ending for Cole and Isabel.

This is basically the story of Cole and Isabel. They didn't really interest me in the previous books, but I gave this book a try. I got to about 40% before I gave up. The story is dull without the charm of the original trilogy. ...more

I have to say, when I came across this book on NetGalley--thank you for the copy--I was super excited to read it.

I read, and loved, the Shiver series, but about halfway through Linger, found myself far more interested in the Cole St. Clair and Isabel plots than in the Sam and Grace plots. There was just something about the characters of unfeeling Isabel and the not-giving-a-shit Cole that drew me to them.

Thankfully, and brilliantly, Stiefvater decided Cole and Isabel needed their own story (YAY)

Maggie Stiefvater is a flawless writer I swear. I didn't love parts of the story itself, but her writing is just that good that I couldn't put it down. ...more
