I think I kinda outgrew this book series. It is too naively teen and cliche.
I remember the first two books to be better but it has been years since I've read them. I still like the alien story background but somehow it all got messed up in teen drama and angst too much. I felt this book lacks balance. One minute it is cheesy to the point of puking and the next it is action packed but filled with plot holes.

Dec 31, 2023: I enjoyed the relationship developments. At this point in my life, I would probably rate this four stars but I will leave my original rating of five stars. It is still an enjoyable story but it is starting to feel a bit young for my current tastes. I pushed to finish this book by the end of the year.

good. but maybe I'm not in a happy mood. it was missing something to make it spark.
