It took me four separate attempts to read this book. I think this would be a great story for someone new to the thriller genre, however having a few thrillers under the belt, this did not feel like anything special.

I would recommend Sharp Objects over Gone Girl for Gillian Flynn.

I was assigned to read this for a group challenge. I generally don't read mystery/thriller novels. This kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed the 2 different points of view. I would consider reading another novel by this author. It was fun. ...more

An excellent, twisted mystery. This book blew me away. It starts out as a murder mystery, then becomes so much more. There are a lot of little clues and red herrings along the way, leading you through an excellent mystery. The writing was great. There's some really awesome imagery, but I didn't like all the parenthesis.

I'm not sure how what I add will affect how great this book has already been received. I agree with the hype and thought it was awesome.

I watched the movie first about a year ago and still, I enjoyed reading this book.

This is a very dark story with an even darker ending. I could only read it in short bursts because it would ruin my mood. It is very well written and the story was interesting but it is not really my taste in genre. I am glad to be done.
