I first read this book a few years ago and loved it, but it has been a while and I've just bought the whole series on my Kindle so thought I would start from the beginning again. And I still love it! Packed full of action, love, hate, deceit and some fairly hot steamy sex sessions going on quite regularly as well!

Riley and her brother Rhoan are dhampires, half vampire, half werewolf but she tends to be more wolf than vamp. Although she does have some of the vamp's strengths, she doesn't need bl I first read this book a few years ago and loved it, but it has been a while and I've just bought the whole series on my Kindle so thought I would start from the beginning again. Riley and her brother Rhoan are dhampires, half vampire, half werewolf but she tends to be more wolf than vamp. Although she does have some of the vamp's strengths, she doesn't need blood to survive. Rhoan is a Guardian for the Directorate, a government organisation which polices the supernaturals of the world and when he goes missing during a secret mission, Riley has a feeling that something is not right with him. Along with a couple of others she finds him and manages to rescue him, but what she gets herself involved in is just the tip of the iceberg.

Several attempts are made to both kidnap and kill her and every time she manages to escape, but not always very easily. And those behind the kidnappings and attempted murders are the last people she expected it to be.

During this whole book, Riley is going through the moon fever, the week building up to the full moon, in which all werewolves experience a great deal of sexual lust and basically have sex whenever, wherever and with whomever they can to sate their desires. Riley does have lots of sex in this book, mostly with her two regular mates, although not soul mates, and there are some slightly more unpleasant scenes, so if that kind of thing is not for you, probably avoid this book in parts anyway.

I did like Quinn and I did like the fact that he was honest with Riley about what could happen between them for the start. And he definitely made her realise that there was more to life than just monthly sex meetings, like she had with Talon and Misha. I can't really remember what happens in the next book, although I have read it, so I'm hoping for another reappearance from Quinn.

I did like the fact that while the immediate big bad was revealed and partially dealt with, there was a big cliffhanger that means this storyline is not yet over. Can't wait to read the next one, hopefully quite soon! ...more

It's really hard to rate this because it was terrible but a really enjoyable terrible if that makes sense? I really hope the next book isn't so dedicated to sex, because I can handle it as an element but not the main focus of an entire book. At least not beyond the first book in a series. ...more
