I am glad to finally be getting to this series. I have been collecting them for awhile, although I still don't have all of the books. I enjoyed this first book but I can see where the world building was slightly lacking. Just not enough explanation for some things. But even without a detailed world building, the world is still very unique. I liked Kate and I am excited to read on as I already know these books get better as they go. And it's Ilona Andrews, I have yet to read a bad book that they ...more

Excellent paranormal to get my mind working. Needed a change from the other books I have been reading and this is it. Awesome book keeps you in from the word go. This is the 1st book I have read from This author Ilona Andrews. this year I have read a few new authors and it is great.

From Humans with magic, weres, vampires, demons, dragons, and more oh my and of course bears. Great fast read. Looking forward to book 2.
