I really liked it. It was pure entertainment for me. The heroine was strong independent with a dark past, who just happens to be the Grim reaper. She has been 'haunted' by this dusty shadow her whole life, it have saved her life many times, and yet she fears it. The ghosts attracted to her because of her job fear it. Although she feels some comfort that it's always there, since her birth, which she remembers from her first breath on. Oh, and her eventual love interest, is something. -Very differ ...more

Wow, this was really good!

When I first began the book, I was riding on high hopes from others' reviews and my own expectations. For a while, I wasn't sure what I thought of the book, then I slowly warmed up to Charley, and Cookie, and then along came Reyes. OMGGM!!! That boy is . . . well . . . there aren't words really ;). Let's just say that I have never before read an adult fantasy book with an adult scene so incredibly well written. And I mean, well written!!!

This is a fun, well executed boo

4 🌟🌟🌟🌟 debut - A fabulous first instalment in what is sure to be a great Urban Fantasy series. A feisty, fiery and fun heroine, with a steamy guardian in a bold and fresh take on the genre.

This is the first book in the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. I’ve had this book on my TBR shelf almost since the day it was published, but for some reason never quite got around to reading it until now almost 13 novels into the series later! I have Jodi from the Romance readers reading challenges gr

Wow...this was really a great read. I couldn't put this book down. I absolutely loved Charley, she was quick witted, smart as hell and had guts of steel. And how about Reyes?
I can't wait to read more about him.
This was a very intense, kick ass story and with an interesting take on the grim reaper.
This is a must read. Get it, you'll definitely enjoy it.
Highly recommend.

This fun series starter takes the grim out of the Grim Reaper.

Her name is Charley Davidson. She is a PI and the 'go to' consultant when dead bodies turn-up - because it is a heck of a lot easier to catch a murderer when Charley can just ask the victim, 'who dunnit?' - oh did I forget to mention Charley is actualy The Grim Reaper? This time though Charlie's got her hands full with two cases one professional - three dead lawyers and two teens, one dead and one missing- and one personal -tracking d

I really enjoyed this one...it had a bit of everything...humor, romance, murder, and Lorelei King does a great job with the narration.
