Ilona Andrews is amazing at world building or in this case, universe building. The concepts within this book were like nothing I had ever read before and it was easy to like the characters. I am glad I have the next two books in this series because I will definitely be reading on.

I resisted reading this book because I'm more of a fan of female protagonists that are physically strong - like Kate Daniels, Mercy Thompson, Elena Deveraux, etc. - and reading about a homely innkeeper wasn't appealing to me. But then I got desperate at 11pm. None of the books that I wanted to read were available at my library but this one along with the rest of the series was available. I heaved a sigh and downloaded it.

Just can't get enough of this author. Read book 1 & 2 within a week. now will have to get library to get book 3 for me. A fun & fast read on books 1 & 2.
Excellent books. Paranormal, romance, suspense, human, magical house & things on the grounds.
vampires, and outer space creatures combined with a human neighborhood with a curious cop.
the books keep you at the edge of your seat waiting for more to keep you tied to the books. :-)
