If you've read enough of my reviews you've probably heard me refer to various rules-these are actually a loosely codified set of principles I truthfully should write down one day. For now let's stick with a rule I call Economy of Characters. Started out slow and I couldn't stand the main characters. However, as I read on, the story became intriguing and then riveting. I started suspecting who the killer was mid way through the book but I was doubting myself as there was no real evidence against that person yet. Really liked how the author brought the story to its close.

This book was very, very boring to me I only got to page 51 then I just couldn't read it anymore. This is not comparable to Gone Girl. I don't know why so many people have it as that. ??
I enjoyed Gone Girl. I did not enjoy this "The Girl On the Train". It should have been titled "The Drunk Girl on Train". this started out in one year then it went back a year. DNF at 45%
I picked this up in my attempt to try audiobooks and due to my interest in the movie, I wanted to try to finish the book first. At first, I powered through thinking it was just the format I didn't like. But after trying two other audiobooks, I was certain it was the book.
The Girl on the Train felt incredibly slow for a thriller and I never felt like I was on the edge of my seat like I had hoped. I did enjoy the alternating points of view between Rachel and Megan but had no interest i ...more
