What Members Thought
This is an ambitious novel with an amazing set of characters whose individual stories come together in bewildering ways to create a dramatic novel full of tension and pathos. Time and time again I was floored by the choices made and the life lived by one of the central characters. Brit Bennett is certainly a skilful writer in that she allowed me to feel sympathy for this character even though they often behaved in ways I struggled to understand.
