Everything about this novel is impressive - its presentation as an audio book, the author's skilful manipulation of its multiple perspectives, the tension engendered by the misunderstandings, deceit and disregard between characters and its subtle yet powerful dissection of history, prejudice, racism and sexism in 1960s and 70s America. Everything I Never Told You is an incisive, thought provoking novel and one of the best books I have 'read' this year - recommended.

This is one of those stories that will stay with you long after the book closes.
This story plays upon 'our wants' for ourselves, 'our wants' for our children and 'our wants' for our families, despite whether these wants are actually necessities or not.
'Want' is the problematic stem Celeste Ng creates extremely well within this narrative; the characters only assume that their 'wants' are universally acknowledged and also yearned for.
