click here.This is a tale of a woman who leaves her abusive husband, and is attracted to a man who shows his dislike of a key other character by violence. It is hard book to read because of all the characters being unlikable and with little sense of emotional equilibrium. While there is a lot of preaching in this book by different characters there is little compassion shown, including by clergy.
