What Members Thought
I was fortunate to be able to fly over and land on the Houtman's Abrolhos Islands on a recent trip to Western Australia. The coral reefs surrounding the islands spelled disaster for the ship Batavia when it ran aground there in June 1629. The events leading up to and following the wreck are the subject of Howard Gray's book; reading the book was an informative but uninspiring experience.
