What Members Thought
LaRose
is a treasure trove of cultural, character and narrative detail. Unfortunately the consensus at today's book club meeting was that these positive elements of the book were hard to appreciate because the story line was hard to follow and the cultural backgrounds of the characters were not well enough described.
The book club had previously read The Round House by the same author and was disaappointed that LaRose did not meet its expectations.
