What Members Thought
I was unimpressed with this novel set in England and Australia during the era of the White Australia policy. If the references to the racial discrimination practised in those years had been more clearly stated and expanded upon, the novel would have had something to hang its hat on and to set it apart from other stories about faltering relationships. I'm sure there was much more to the story than this but it just failed to really engage me.
