A remarkable story really, and beautifully written in an understated tone. Thought provoking too.
The only detracting feature was that its gracefully pace made it hard, at times to engage yourself with the read.
But plenty to talk about especially for a bookclub.

An interesting insight in to the life of a musical genius in Soviet Russia. Left me wanting to know more about some of the characters the author assumed you were familiar with. Principle versus survival - what would I have done?
