This trilogy has kept getting better. This book was hard hitting, powerful and at times very moving. It is a political thriller with some wonderful surprises.
Through this series, and these are the first books I have read by Robin Hobb, there has been an excellent recapping of the previous book/s. It is done in the context of moving the story forward, and has been helpful without being intrusive.
