What Members Thought
I thought this was a remarkable book. There's a real risk that basing a novel around the microcosm of one family could lead to a work that fails to intrigue and gets lost in the minutiae. This is not the case. The minutiae takes on a certain grandness, and the family turns out to be both extraordinary and richly ordinary.
