A knockout. Unforgettable.
A really beautiful patchwork quilt of stories about success, parenthood, identity, feminism, and more. Couldn’t put it down.
This is a novel of essentially short stories linked together by common ground (a little like Olive Again, Cloud Atlas etc); within that framework, some stories are inevitably stronger than others. For me I particularly loved Carole and Grace (and how her story closes the set of 12). I also felt that Roland was a brilliantly drawn character (and truly comes to life in the last chapter). As were Yazz’s friends.
