Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.

Her Body & Other Parties is collection of short stories. These stories are dark, feminist works of magical realism. There is lots of sex going on in here. As I usually find to be the case, some of these stories spoke to me more than others. The SVU one in particular just didn't do it for me. ...more

3.5. Some of the stories were excellent, and some were less so. Hard to review as a group. She’s clearly very talented.

My favorite story was the second-to-last. The characters were more relatable.

My least favorite story was the riff on SVU: I got what she was trying to do, but it felt forced to me, and I had trouble disconnecting her stories from why did/didn’t happen on SVU.
