What Members Thought
Ever since I read My Sister's Keeper, I swore I'd never read another Picoult book because I couldn't stop crying BUT I did appreciate the alternating narrations, the moral dilemma, the "grayness" of the lives and issues depicted, the legal ramifications. And since then I have read several and the same style is prevalent in each book, including this one. BUT this one stands out with the graphic art and Dante's inferno corrolation. Not terrible, at least by Jodi standards, but I noticed that as it neared the climax of the story, I became less and less interested instead of more hooked. Not a good sign. It was fine for what it was. And oh, the terribly dramatic (and I actually mean terribly), faux-profound endings for each section of the story! Here a few gems:
