Holy smokes, I just cried uncontrollably. This was a very quick read for me. I didn't love the style/how it was set up with the various narrators, but it grabbed onto my heartstrings and didn't let go so I suppose I shouldn't complain about that. The story surprised me in how much I enjoyed it as I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. I'd recommend reading the end at home, in private, so no one sees the insane amount of tissues you will be using.

Books such as these are not my favorites, but occ

This was my first Picoult book and I have to say I loved it. **SPOILER ALERT** Initially having to switch back and forth between narrators and fonts stumped me, but once I got into the book, I realized it helped keep my attention. It would have me wondering what this person's point of view was going to be. I have to agree with a lot of the reviewers on Sara's selfishness and obvious favoritism towards Kate. the number of narrative voices in this book may get confusing, but i suppose that's the point: who has the right to speak, anyways? and who's point of view counts, when your sister is dying and you're being asked to give pieces of your body to her to prolong her survival? a lot of moral questions and conundrums are posed in this novel. i don't know what i'd do, but it definitely makes you think. ...more

I think this is the first Jodi Picoult book I ever read and re-reading it, I remembered exactly why I went and sought out the rest of her books. This book is touching, thoughtful, well-researched and just plain good. Also, sad, but if you know what it's about, that's a given. ...more

Too many different narrators - I felt the addition of the love story just muddied up the waters. The book wandered all over the place and I had a hard time keeping focused. One of the worst endings I have ever read.

I absolutely adore Jodi's writing style. She always creates so much depth to her characters and their lives. This book took a coming-of-age topic and turned it on its head. I enjoyed every moment of it! ...more

A story about organ donation from a child mixed with family dynamics. Really was engaged all the way through until the end, and then I was disappointed.

This book had me caring about all the characters. Understanding each of their feelings. Brought me to tears in the end!
