To me this book seems very tied to the current administration and what’s happening post 2016 election. So I’m not sure how it would hit me if there was more distance. Nonetheless, it was fascinating to read a work that set forth the historical context for how much progressive policies (Labor, abolition, civil rights) owe a debt to women activists and specifically, women of color.
