What Members Thought
This memoir was quite unlike others I've read recently. It's not always linear, and a lot of the events are implied, instead of directly-narrated. Sometimes the audience is "you" - the author's partner - and sometimes it's a more general readership. I appreciate the stark narration, because while it doesn't read beautifully like some of my favorite writing, it makes the book accessible and adds a grit to it that reflects the life Mailhot has had.
