What Members Thought

Immersive historical fiction. Although, subsequently, long winded in parts (not that there is a particular thread of the story that I would get rid of), this book is a fascinating read. Really curious for an objective telling of the Dr Jordan / Mrs Humphries relationship because I doubt his intentions and actions as told.

Bit of a slow burn, starting off as one of those books where you can read and read and read without seeming to make any headway. However, it picked up steam in the lead up to the murders and finished as a book I’m not likely to soon forget. 3.5/5 all told.

good writing but i just didn't care about any of the characters. ever. and i wanted to. i had been intrigued by the story but was disappointed overall.
