ahh l. m. montgomery. i read my way through all of her books i could find as a kid and a few months ago suddenly remembered the blue castle and decided i wanted to relive valancy's Hot Girl Summer. it remains as delightful now as when i first read it! pure wish fulfillment with some dazzling descriptions of natural beauty. i'd like to visit pei someday and see for myself the landscapes that so inspired miss montgomery

One of only a few of the author’s works written for an adult audience, this book is what I wish contemporary romance would be today. Despite the more adult themes, I could definitely tell it came from the same spirit who gave us Anne Shirley. I laughed out loud several times.
Fun fact: this is Montgomery’s only work that didn’t take place in any portion on Prince Edward Island.

I liked it. Really, I liked more than Anne of Green Gables. It has similiar atmosphere, but somehow it's different. Nice.
