I would give this book 10 stars if I could. I listened to it through Audible. I absolutely loved the author's feminist take and hold her in the same esteem as Gloria Steinem. In her words, this is a "fat, feminist, abortion manifesto" and a must read for today's liberal feminists. I would find myself pausing to reflect on her words. So very good. Her reading what people say to her online gave me chills. Her perspective on life was really inspiring. Loved it.

I loved this book by Lindy West, and would recommend it to anyone who has an open mind to hearing about feminism, comedy, artistry, abortion, and when rape jokes suck. West is a wonderful writer, using words as both weapons and comfort as she talks about how being a woman, being fat, and being feminist have all impacted her life. Her voice and her story made me laugh out loud, weep silently on the subway, and empathize completely.

I have loved Lindy West's writing since I discovered her in The Stranger years ago. She came across as fearless, as well as being funny, smart and generous. Her first book does not disappoint -- brave, hilarious and astute, while showing more compassion than I could in her shoes. ...more
