Ughhh - I can’t believe this series is over. I actually hesitated to start this book as I had a feeling when I finished it that I would be so sad and I wouldn’t want it to end. This story and this writing makes me just spill out with emotions. I feel flooded. This is by far the best series of books I have ever read. And separate yet obviously connected - I started watching the HBO adaptation of My Brilliant Friend and finished Season Two last night. And while I enjoy the show what has reached me

This book brings the last chapter on the friendship of Lenu and Lila. We start following Elena as she ends her marriage in order to carry on an affair with Nino, which made me want to toss the book across the room. It is very transparent from earlier books that Nino is just like his father, and I found it frustrating to see that Elena fell for that. Anyway... this is a very powerful book because it's beautifully constructed characters can bring forth all these complex emotions. Some truly heart
