I've been reading some longer novels lately: the kind with spindly, winding plots and sub-plots and casts of characters bursting at the seams. But then I read Euphoria, and remembered how much can be told in a small space: in half a line, the merest suggestion, or even a stark, undwelled-upon admission. Wonderfully engaging read with such interesting characters! Nell Stone is the heart of this book, and I loved how King was loosely inspired by Margaret Mead's life in developing this character. Nell was a fully realized character, and it was impossible to read this book and not connect with her deeply. The men in her life - her husband, Fen, and her friend, Andrew Bankson - were also well developed and written (I particularly loved Bankson's back story), and their very different personalities we
