I wasn't really interested in reading this book because I don't care for southern novels full of flaky characters with fluffy names. The women always seem way too concerned about their looks, clothes, houses, and place in society. The men are always in the background and usually have no personalities. But I read it at everyone's urging. Divine Secrets did not disappoint me in those respects (Siddalee, Lulu, Teensy, Necie, Caro, Vivi--what fluffy names!)
