so as i got closer to the end of the book i couldn't think how it was going to end -- it didn't have the traditional rising-climax-fall action and ijeoma was trapped in a kind of quiet misery that i couldn't see how she'd come out of in a few pages

and then it did end and (view spoiler)

this is beautifully written and terribly sad but the ending will not leave you to suffer
