A very original story. Love and lose and prose! Just a very engaging and wonderfully written book. I will seek out more of Jeanette Winterson's writing. She is brilliant!

A far cry from Garcia Marquez (although favorably compared to Marquez on the book jacket), this book was a disappointment. Barely coherent ramblings, a weak attempt at dark magical realism, and a bleak outlook on humanity and people's ability to overcome obstacles. Also a distorted and disturbing look at love.
