Nice story that tells you a lot about Burma and Buddhism.

This book is narrated by the dead tour group leader, murdered just before the trip to Burma she had planned, starting off this funny, quirky story. This sarcasm and humor I didn't notice in other Amy Tan novels, although I loved her other books too, they were harder to get through. ...more

I really enjoy Amy Tan, but did not enjoy this book. Stopped halfway through - really just didn't care about the characters or the story enough to keep going. Maybe I'll pick it back up again in the future. ...more
