If it weren't for our book discussion, I would never have even picked this title up. And even though it was slow going at the start, by the end it was very engaging. Smith is one young, amazing writer.

A funny but not mean send-up of academia. Loved the professor who wanted to "Take the liberal out of Liberal Arts." Wonder if Smith got that from Rush Limbaugh. Or Dick Cheney?

this is one of those books that you hate to finish because you want it to go on forever. i thought of the characters long after i had finished, and often had to remind myself that they were not real and not my friends. something funny or sad would happen to me and i would want to share it with kiki. i have read all of Zadie Smith's novels and am eagerly anticipating her next one.
