Seven Word Synopsis: Young wizard unleashes evil, goes on journey.
Thoughts: A friend of mine was horrified to hear that I hadn't read any of the Earthsea Cycle books. I bumped this to the top of my "to read" list in order to restore my street cred as a librarian and a nerd. A Wizard of Earthsea was a quick read about the journey of Ged, a young and powerful wizard coming into his own and battling the shadow that he unwittingly unleashed into the world. Luckily, this was an excellent read, and I look forward to the next book in the series. Now I just need to re-read The Great Gatsby to undo the work of junior English class...
