This book, this storytelling is singular in its subtlety. Does this book introduce and follow wizards in a place called Earthsea? Yes. Is this book really ABOUT wizards in Earthsea? No. It's about you and me and the devastating symmetry of human existence. It's a parable, a votive candle burn of a tale that solidly reaffirms the genre's timeless relevance.
