This book is so sweet, one of my favorites by Jane Austen. It is at once tragic and romantic, like a Shakespearean play where the main characters are kept apart, not by any physical means, but by the stubbornness of their own hearts and the tricks of their own minds.

this was the last of the austen books for me to read, and indeed it was a satisfying one :) the romantic conflict at the center of the book between anne elliot and captain wentworth was more complex than that of some of austen's other protagonists', and in all i found the book had more depth. character development, social issues, love, loss, etc. all were found there. good read!
