I've lost count of how many times I've read Pride and Prejudice, but this time, I read this version aloud to someone who had never before experienced the joy of P&P. I must say, it was rather delightful to be part of someone's first time. And even though I've spent ages deep in Austen research, all the notes on the right-hand side made for an interesting touch, to have such information at my fingertips. Pretty sure I like the movie better. Not really into Austen's frequent analysis of bourgeoise culture. But this book is admittedly better (more bearable) than Emma. I probably need to subject myself to a re-read to be sure, but, eh, I'd rather not.
