Sometimes I feel not smart enough for Margaret Atwood.
I loved The Handmaids Tale last year. I was ambivalent to The Robber Bride.
Typical of Atwood. She keeps the narrative changing and challenging. You don't know who to believe. I can imagine this whole book as an avant garde theatre production.
I'm glad I read this and will look for more myth retellings from this Canongate series.

Interesting and humorous twist on the Odyssey, narrated from Penelope's point of view. See, Ulysses took 20 years to get back home from Troy, and spent quite some time in the arms of Circe and Calypso, yet, he was outraged at finding his house full with suitors trying to win Penelope's heart (which goes along with the properties of the queen of Ithaca). Funny, witty and thought provoking.

Margaret Atwood does it again! She tells Penelope's story with just the right combo of wit, sarcasm, and heart!
