This is the first Atwood book I ever read and it blew my mind at the time. I felt like she was describing my childhood in parts. Any girl at some level I believe can relate to this. It examines girl-bulling and the consequences that haunt you in later life so accurately. It does go into other regions that are a little too mystical for my liking, but the intention is right on.
