I reread this after maybe 10-12 years. Not only does it hold up, I now find the "conference" transcript at the end so much more pointed a critique.

Still brilliant, and still brutal. I may need to break it up with something more optimistic before jumping into the sequel when I get home from vacation... it feels just as relevant as ever.
Again, don't get why everyone likes this. The plot was very predictable, plodded on forever, and yet another book that hides obvious political views. Or maybe I just have ready too many of these types of novels.

Though pedantic at times, the novel provided some great fodder for discussing gender, and change. It was an engaging read, and I'm glad my book club chose it!
