No estoy segura qué pensar de este libro. Tiene un conjunto de personajes interesantes, bien desarrollados, e Isabel Allende es experta en plasmar amores monumentales. La historia comienza en un asilo de retiro cerca de San Francisco, y a través de cartas y recuerdos, conecta la vida de varios de los personajes con eventos del pasado. The first Allende book I've read. Hmmm.... I'll be thinking about this one for a bit longer. Perhaps I enjoyed the first parts of the book more, yet I wanted to stay with these people and keep turning pages to complete the journey with them. 4 stars is generous, as there were some weak spots, in my enjoyment of the storyline. Allende's writing seemed to be richer in the first chapters. However, there is much to be savored and gleaned in the unfolding of these lives. An enjoyable cozy read.
