It's really hard to review someone's life. You can't exactly say that the book sucked. I can review Walls' writing, which was ok. She basically was just giving snippets of her memories. Which was fine for the subject matter. And I wonder if she asked her siblings if they remembered the same stories, or if they would tell different stories? Also I wonder if Walls has PTSD from her childhood? Just reading the book gave me PTSD. That's something I wish Walls would address, the lasting psychological

The more I read the more I love this book. There was a moment about a quarter way in where it won me over fully (I wan't buying in completely to start out)....I laughed out loud. And now I can't remember what I laughed about.

Think your childhood was screwed up? You may have trouble winning if you compare with Jeanette Walls. Who knew a gossip columnist for msnbc could write such a moving book.
